|Alenka SLAVINEC is a world-renowned photographer, artist, film producer, cultural leader and entrepreneur. Alenka was born in 1977, in Slovenia’s oldest town Ptuj. She has also lived in USA, Australia, Kuwait, Dubai, Brazil, Italy, Serbia and Germany.
Alenka studied social sciences at the University of Ljubljana and film and photography at the New York Film Academy NYFA. She is recognized for leading, collaborating and initiating key programs within the artistic community in Slovenia, the United States, Kuwait, Serbia, Italy and other international territories. Alenka has been active in the film industry since 2008, when she independently produced a documentary titled “The World was unaware it landed in a poem” about Slovenia’s celebrated photographer Stojan Kerbler.
Alenka’s feature drama films “Coming Home” (2011) directed by Aksel Stasny and “All that Glitters” (2011) were in the official programming of the Montreal World Film Festival and in the Magnolia Film Festival selection. The documentaries were followed by projects at New York’s Film Academy and Film Festivals. Alenka co-produced Wonders of Slovenia with Emmy Award Winner Ashley Colburn.
Alenka has supported many art projects and collaborates as a photographer and participated in many group expositions. She works as a photographer, film producer and creative marketing director, as well as project manager. Her past and present experience include a public relations position at Saatchi & Saatchi, and the official photographer for The Slovenia Times of Ljubljana.
Working with Inter Expo Goup since 2006. Alenka served as a cultural manager at the Museum of Transitory Art (MOTA) in Ljubljana and at the Wayward Pen Foundation in New York City (2010), which is a non-profit cross cultural organization dedicated to the exchange between new and emerging European, Slovenian and American artists.
Alenka is working on projects with Kuwait since 4 years ago and has launched the magazine Fashion Avenue Kuwait together with Dotbacspace company. Alenka is the author of the cover photo of Sheikha Sarah Al Sabah, and second issue SH Majed Al Sabah.
